Regulators "Range With No Name" Match a Success
The Greene County Regulators after 4 years of shooting in Greeneville, held the first match at their new range in September. The "Range With No Name" match was a huge success with 49 shooters coming to support the club's new venue. Besides our club members, there was a great bunch of cowboys and cowgirls from the Smokey Mt. Shootist Society along with Cherokee Big Dawg and No Purse Nez and Three Legged Pete from Kentucky. A crowd of spectators also gathered to see what was going on. We really appreciate everyone who came out and shot with us and helped to make our new range a success.
Ringer, Lil Weasel and Ottway Smith were the 3 top shooters with No Purse Nez the top women's shooter. Be sure to check out the scores section of the website for a complete rundown on the match results.
We will continue to work on making the range better and will let everyone know when we are having work days. One thing we plan to do in the near future is to dismantle the old barn that is located on the property to use the lumber for stage fronts. Our plans are to eventually have several fronts down "Main Street" to form a nice cowboy town. It should be a fun place to shoot and have the look of a true old west town.
Many people have helped the club in planning, working and setting up and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of them. Without good help none of this could happen. If you have suggestions or questions about things that are going on at the range, feel free to contact us.
Also, keep an eye on the GCR Message Board that is located on our website. This is a great place for us to post information to the club and get feedback from shooters.
We'll keep working so our matches continue to improve so until we meet again, shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way from the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
