Regulators Outlast Rain in May

The rain was coming down pretty good when I first arrived at the range well before 8:00 Saturday morning.  I was beginning to wonder if anybody was going to come but slowly the shooters began to show.  It takes more than a little rain and the threat of a good downpour to keep these fine cowboys from shooting.  Stages for this month were written by Ottway Smith and were adapted from a shoot that was held recently in Oak Ridge.

There were 20 shooters in all and 2 of them were brand new to cowboy action shooting.  TN Critr and Draggin' Canoe came to see what our sport was all about and appeared to have a really good time.  I would say it is a safe bet they will be back soon to help the Regulators bring justice to the land.

After about 3 stages, the rain moved out and made the rest of the day more pleasant.  When the last rounds were sent down range, Mort Dooley had finished first with Ottway Smith close behind.  TN Deadeye and Middle Creek Kid were 3rd & 4th with TN Bob in 5th place.  A complete list of the shooters for this month are in the Scores section of the website.

Construction of our bathroom facilities will begin soon and we could still use some funding to complete that project.  The sooner we can eliminate the portable bathroom we are renting, the sooner we can put that money to better use.  If you would like to contribute to that project, please contact William AA Wallace or Mort Dooley.  Any help would be appreciated greatly by the club.

Also, keep an eye on the GCR Message Board for club news and upcoming events such as work days and such.  That's about it for this month, so until next time, shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way, from the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
