Regulators Brave Fierce Winds in February

Saturday was I believe the coldest match we have shot since the club began over 4 years ago.  The temperature was quite low but the winds were hitting us head on between 10 and 20 miles per hour which really made it seem colder.  There were 16 shooters present at the beginning of the match but 3 of them retired before the match was complete.

We had two horse props to use this month as well as the new hotel stage front to shoot from.  The horse props added some fun and variety to the match while the hotel front made a nice platform to shoot stages 4 & 5 from.

Thanks to O'Shea for building the horse props and for his work on the hotel along with Middle Creek Kid, Trooper Lark, Rowdy Kodiak Aleut, Cherokee Deacon, Dadeville Dude, Mort Dooley and William AA Wallace.  I hope I have included everyone but if not, I apologize and want to say we appreciate your help.

Our old friend Tombstone Tim was back after a long spell and it was sure great to see him.  Triple P also returned to shoot with us and brought along Little P, his son, who made an outstanding showing finishing 9th in his very first cowboy match.  The shooting results are on the scores section of the website.  Be sure to check them out if you haven't already.

For those of you who did not attend the annual meeting held in January, we have some information for you.  The club officers for 2007 are as follows:

Ramrod, Mort Dooley,

Foreman, Hogleg Horn,

Secretary, Sheez Packen

Bean Counter, William AA Wallace

Territorial Governor, William AA Wallace

Some other things that were decided are that match fees for club members will be $10, non-club members will be $15 and first time cowboy shooters will be free.

Also, keep an eye on the GCR Message Board for club news and upcoming events such as work days and such.  That's about it for this month, so until next time, shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way, from the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
