Cowboys Brave Snow for February
Saturday morning the snow began to fly at home around 6 am and continued to come down most of the day. Tombstone Tim, Hogleg Horn, TN Deadeye, Lil Weasel, William Wallace and myself were waiting to see if anymore cowboys would show and watched as the landscape was painted white by the falling snow. By the time we left the range, there was about 3 inches on the ground.
William AA Wallace had provided the stages for us again this month. With only 6 shooters, we all had to do double duty but things went pretty well. With cold fingers and cold guns we began the match.
The Top Gun for this month turned out to be none other than Lil Weasel. Congratulations on a job well done and his first match win. Mort Dooley was 2nd with William Wallace in a close 3rd. TN Deadeye finished 4th while Hogleg Horn and Tombstone Tim were 5th & 6th.
Doc Willoughby has all of the information listed in the Scores section of the web if you want to take a gander.
We had our first club meeting of 2006 on February 4th at the Sagebrush restaurant in Kingsport. There was an excellent turnout and I appreciate everyone's attendance. We elected the officers for 2006 and the list is as follows:
Ramrod: Mort Dooley
Foreman: Ottway Smith
Top Hand: Hogleg Horn
Secretary: A Wall
Bean Counter: William AA Wallace
Marshal: TN Deadeye
Webmaster: Doc Willoughby
We will be getting our storage building in the next couple of weeks. We also discussed getting some new targets made and want to begin making plans for our Anniversary match in September. We would like to have sponsors for stages so if you have ideas please let us know.
That's about it for now, we hope the weather will be better for next month. There are some big matches like Mule Camp coming up and if you need information contact us and we'll try to help you out. Until the next match, shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way from the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
