Seven years of Cowboy Action Shooting fun with the Greene County Regulators!

We celebrated our 7th anniversary as a SASS affiliated club on September 5, 2009.  How time flies!  From our humble beginnings at the TAC2 range with three dusty bays and some steel targets to our fantastic range at "Bordertown", we sure have come a long way.  Some of us have been with the club from the very beginning, some have only been with us a short time...but there is one thing that is certain, the Greene County Regulators have developed into one fantastic shooting club with great folks, fast stages and great times shared with friends.

We had 40 cowboys and cowgirls show up for the match which wasn't bad considering it was the long Labor Day weekend and folks had plenty of options planned for the end of Summer vacation time!  The stages were well written and everyone enjoyed the story line as it involved the names of some of our more colorful and fun shooters.  The stages were fast and the new pistol targets constructed by Middle Creek Kid were great fun and BIG (although I did manage to have TWO misses on them!).

Special thanks to Sheez Packen for setting up the good BBQ and getting the "Pig and Chick" to cater lunch for us.  The food was there on time and I don't think anyone went away hungry.  Each shooter received a plush, embroidered hand towel and some folks wanted to purchase more than one since they were so nice.  Another special thanks to Boozy Creek for getting those for the match as well.  Sonora Moon took pictures throughout the day and even took individual pictures of club members which can be seen on the club website.

When the dust settled and the smoke cleared, we had a bunch of folks that shot the match clean and did it with style.  The clean shooters were, A. Wall, Amorous Ali, B.N. Bonnett, Cherokee Deacon, Cool Breeze, Cumberland Mountain (Cigar) John, Doc Cherokee, Lil Weasel, Marshal Plank Shade, Pistol Creek, Summer Breeze, Sunshine Billy, Tenn Critr, and Tool Maker.

Top Male Shooter was Lil Weasel and Top Female Shooter was Summer Breeze!  They received a nicely made ammo pouch from Maverick Leather that had the new SASS gold coin inset into the design on the flap.  Thanks to Peacekeeper and Lady Sedona for donating the top prizes for the match.

The rest of the top shooters by category were given a gold SASS coin and the second place finishers received "GCR Bucks" to be applied to future match fees.
