Cool October Weather greets the Regulators at last!

October the 15th dawned at a chilly 40 degrees with heavy fog.  At the safety meeting it had warmed up to 55 degrees and the fog had burned off. We had 21 gunslingers show up for the match, and we had seven shooters representing the Greene County Regulators at the Virginia State Championship in Roanoke Va.

Lick Creek Kid was back from China and headed up Posse 1, and Tennessee Deadeye headed up Posse 2. We were shooting great stages written by Mark Mills. We sure were happy to have Crossroads Kid and Boot Doctor back with us after a three month absence. I was sure glad to be back after a 2 month absence!

When the smoke cleared Lick Creek Kid was the Match winner as well as first in Modern. O’Shea was the Senior winner and second overall. Tennessee Deadeye was the 49’R winner and third overall. Middle Creek Kid was the Traditional winner and fourth overall. Ambush Annie was our Ladies Traditional winner, and Tennessee Bob was our top Duelist. The day finished out at a pleasant 66 degrees.

Our crew at the Virginia State Championship came home with Plaques in hand. Ottway Smith won Senior Duelist (Ottway is the Senior Duelist State Champion in 2005 of Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia), Ringer won first place in 49’R, and was fourth overall. Summer Breeze won first place in the Buckeret division, and Bee N. Bonnet finished second. Sunshine Billy won first place in B-Western. William A Wallace finished eighth in Traditional and A-Wall finished 10 in Traditional. Our club sure did the Greene County Regulators Proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
