Fall arrives at G.C.R. Oct 16th Shoot

Saturday October 16th dawned chilly at 38 degrees. By shooting time it had warmed up to 46 degrees with a steady wind of 20 to 25 mph, needless to say it was right chilly. We had 23 regulators show up to shoot it out.

Tennessee Deadeye showed up to keep score but was sidelined from shoot-ing due to a couple of broken bones in his left leg. He thought by the end of the day his alias was Chester, the gimp legged sidekick to Marshall Dillon.

The morning started off overcast but by noon the sun had come out and Warmed up to 56 degrees but the wind was still blowing.

Ringer had written five interesting and fast paced stages even though he had to work today. Lorenzo Kid and Buckshot Cogburn Represented the High Country Cowboys at our shoot. Our friend Sneedville Joe who we haven’t seen for six months was able to make it to shoot with Us. Glad to have you back Joe! Rhea had to work today so we were on our Own for vittles. Maybe in November we can have some hot stew or chili for lunch.

When the smoke cleared Lick Creek Kid was our top gun, O’Shea

Was second, Doc Willoughby was third, Lorenzo Kid was fourth and our top 49er, and Trooper Lark was fifth. Sheez Packin was top lady, Hi-Wall was our top Duelist with Coon Dawg second. Lo-Wall was our top junior. Hogleg Horn was our top Classic Cowboy shooter.

Hopefully by November 20th I will be back on two good legs and be Ready to sling some lead. The Greene County Regulators are now officially A Tennessee Non-Profit Corp. Many thanks are owned to Shamrock Paddy for helping us get this! Thanks again Pat.

 Until Next month.

Vaya con Dios,  Your Ramrod Tennessee Deadeye
