NOVEMBER 2003 NEWS

Saturday November 15th dawned drizzly and a chilly 38 degrees. Eight hardy cowpokes and three spectators, and a camera man and April a reporter from WJHL channel 11 TV in Johnson City Tn. showed up.

Rea, Tombstone Tim’s better half showed up with homemade biscuits and gravy and sausage biscuits for breakfast and latter on dished up some great hotdogs and homemade chili for lunch. Let me tell you folks the food she served up was delicious! I hope she’s willing to do this again. We also need to give Rea a mighty big THANK YOU for the awesome job she did on our saloon sign and our jail sign.

Hi-Wall Johnson and Ottway Smith did a great job writing the stages and setting up the shoot. They were a little out of the ordinary, fun, challenging, and since IfinIdaShottBedder wasn’t here will just have to shoot them again in January. The Posse of eight shooters blazed thru five stages and a lunch break by 1.30 pm and it had warmed up to 50 degrees. We hit it just right the rain stopped just as we started shooting Stage 1 and held off until we were finished. After stage five was finished we let a father and son from Unicoi Tn. Shoot a stage with borrowed guns and ammo, from the smile on their faces I am sure they will be back real soon.

When we were finished we saw a very cute reporter, April from WJHL and her cameraman had arrived. After a short interview with Tennessee Deadeye, Lick Creek Kid and Deadeye put on a shooting demonstration for the camera. Afterward we let April strap on the guns and fire away, she did great. Saturday evening on the WJHL 11 o clock news the  Regulators made it on TV.  After the smoke cleared Lick Creek Kid was our top gunfighter,  Tennessee Deadeye was second,  Hi-W all Johnson was third and our top duelist, Doc Willoughby was fourth,  Shamrock Paddy was fifth, and C.A.Daver was our top black powder shooter.

Please remember our December shoot is Dec. 6th the first Sat. in Dec.!!!

2004 club dues are due the first of January, they are $30 renewal, if two in a family $25 each,  three in a family $20 each.  We need to get these dues in early so we can pay our liability insurance for 2004 of $400.00 so we can remain a SASS club. The Saloon and Jail look incredible since they were painted and the signs put up. Until December 6th Via Con Dias, Your Ramrod Tennessee Deadeye
