Big Fun for May in Greeneville
We have been very fortunate for the last several matches to have some great shooting weather. Despite some heavy rains earlier in the week, Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day just right for shooting. There were 22 cowboys and 2 cowgirls ready for business.
TN Deadeye had written 5 stages for us and did a great job.
We had three brand new cowboy shooters with us this month, Brad and Mel, along with Deadwood Phil. Brad and Mel were spectators at our last match but I doubt if they will be spectators any more. Deadwood Phil's wife watched this match but we expect her to be shooting soon too.
Triple P and Shotgun Shell returned to shoot with us after a short break. Glenn Fiddich made his way back to the range after being away for a while also. We were glad to have all of them back with us.
Keystone and TN Hawk joined us from Knoxville and we hope to see them back real soon. Keystone gave us a lesson in shooting Gunfighter and he was fun to watch with both pistols blazing.
Mort Dooley, O'Shea and Clink were the top 3 shooters followed closely by Doc Willoughby, TN Deadeye and Ottway Smith. Middle Creek Kid has only been shooting with us a few months but is making a name for himself as a top shooter and was 7th.
Lickcreek Kid was sporting his new End of Trail Winner belt buckle on his shotgun belt along with a big grin. Lickcreek didn't shoot quite as well as we are used to seeing him but he seemed to be having a great time anyway. After winning at EoT, he'll be looking for another trophy when we head to Mule Camp at the end of May and we hope he gets one.
Shamrock Paddy was 9th, Keystone was 10th with TN Hawk 11th. A short absence didn't hurt Triple P who was 12th. New shooter Brad finished 13th, a great start for his first match.
Hogleg Horn, Montigue Pike, Trail Justice, Bear Claws, Tombstone Tim and the Dadeville Dude all shot well and looked great doing it.
Glen Fiddich was 20th overall shooting Traditional. Mel finished her first match in 21st in Women's Modern. Great shooting! Boomer Fred, Shotgun Shell and Deadwood Phil rounded out the rest of the shooting.
We were glad to have each one of our cowboys and cowgirls whether they were new or old shooters. We missed all of our friends who weren't able to come also and hope to see them back soon.
Several Greene County Regulators will be headed to Mule Camp to shoot soon. I want to wish each one a safe trip and the best of luck in Georgia. I'm sure they will all do very well.
Until next month, shoot straight and clean and have fun the cowboy way from the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
