Regulators Shine in June!!

Well, it seems like this year is really moving on.  Here we are halfway through June which means we have already shot 6 matches this year.  Our June match was a pretty quick affair.  Seems like everyone has been practicing because they sure shot fast.  There were 38 shooters ready to sling lead this month.  We had lots of folks from the Smokey Mountain Shootist Society and the High Country Cowboys as well!!  We always enjoy shooting with our friends from other clubs and Saturday was no exception.

Lil Weasel was the Top Gunslinger, again, and our top Senior.  Way to go Weasel!!  He has really been on a roll lately and has been shooting extremely well.  There was only a split second between Weasel and Sunshine Billy who finished 2nd overall and was the top Silver Senior.  Our two top spots were a Senior and Silver Senior!!  These guys don’t let anything slow them down!!

Boozy Creek was the top 49er and 3rd overall.  I think this is only about his 6th or 7th match too.  He is really making a showing.  Blue Steele, Widowmaker Hill and Keystone were right in the thick of things also.  Our Territorial Governor William  AA Wallace was the top Wrangler and finished 7th overall.  To see the rest of the scores, be sure to check out that section on our website.  There are just too many for me to list here but that’s a good thing!!

Besides being fast, 8 of our shooters were very deadly too.  Boozy Creek, Keystone, Lil Weasel, Sheepdog Slim, Tenn Critr, Tennessee Deadeye, Trooper Lark and William AA Wallace all shot clean.

I’d like to thank Middle Creek Kid and Cherokee Deacon for building our new wagon on stage 3.  It is a great looking prop and works very well.  Cherokee Deacon, Middle Creek Kid and Mort Dooley also fashioned covers over the remaining uncovered loading and unloading areas which turned out to be a big hit with our shooters.  Our range is really looking good with our fronts and props and makes for a fun place to be.

Our next match will fall on July 4th.  The club was asked if they wanted to move it but after finding out that Lil Weasel would not be able to attend that day, they decided to shoot on the holiday.  It was actually quite funny how when he announced he couldn’t shoot, everyone else wanted to.  We’ll miss Weasel but he’ll be back for the next one.

We may have some hotdogs and fireworks after the match so plan to have a great time!!  Keep an eye on our message board for upcoming work days and other information concerning the club.

Well, that’s about it for this month.  I hope to see everyone at the July shoot so until next time, shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way, from the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
