Regulators Ride to Leadwood in June

When our June match came, we were once again blessed with some really nice weather.  Blue skies and nice temperatures brought 27 shooters out to the range to see what we had cooked up for them.  William AA Wallace had written 6 stages entitled "Welcome to Leadwood" for us to try our hands at.

Several cowboys and girls came a good distance to be with us this month.  Diamondback Dennis, Dandy Diamond and Blue Steele came over from North Carolina.  Diamondback's friends Ventura and A.J. Chubasko came from South Carolina.  Sheriff Donald and Deadeye Daisy rode up from Georgia to shoot with us.  You might recognize those names from Mule Camp.  Sheriff Donald and Deadeye Daisy take a lot of pictures of Mule Camp and post them on the web for the cowboys to enjoy.  Cherokee Deacon came up from Rutledge, TN for the first time also to sling lead with the Regulators.  Doc Hawken returned to shoot with us and we're glad he made it back.  We were also glad to see Honeysuckle Sue back with us.  Lil Weasel made his first appearance in a SASS match Saturday also.  We were glad to see all of these fine cowboys and girls out.

Shooting for the first time in one of our matches, Needa Lotta Shotsmore.  Miss Needa is no stranger to the Regulators and we all know her as Rea.  You have heard us mention her before because many months at our shoots, Rea has provided us with some very fine food.  She is also the one responsible for the fine artwork on our saloon sign over The Longbranch.  I'm glad she is shooting now, but I am really going to miss that good food too.

Ringer and Lick Creek Kid ran one posse while TN Deadeye and Diamondback Dennis led another.  When the smoke cleared, Diamondback Dennis was the top shooter and barely ahead of Ringer with Lick Creek Kid close behind.  To see how everyone finished, be sure to check out the Scores section on the web.

Thanks to all the fine cowboys and cowgirls who came out to shoot with us.  Everyone helped out and we were able to finish up the 6 stages pretty quickly.  I am working on a road report from End of Trail and also Mule Camp.  Keep an eye out for them soon in our Riding with the Regulators section.  Until next month, shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way from the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
