Santa Visits the Regulators

With Christmas just around the corner, Santa was out checking on all the little cowboys and cowgirls in Greeneville when he ran into some trouble.   It seemed that some rowdy cowboys thought it would be fun to steal the gifts for the children that were coming in on the stage but there were 14 Regulators ready and willing to make things right.

The morning started out pretty chilly but things warmed up when the lead started flying as 13 cowboys riding with Sheez Packin set out to bring justice to the lawless.  Sunshine Billy was once again along for the ride after making a trip down from Possum Trot to help us out.  Those hombres were no match for the Regulators who very easily dispatched the bad men and returned with the presents.  With the help of some fine cowboys, Santa won't have any trouble bringing Christmas to the kids of Greene County.  For all the results of the match, check out the Scores section on the website.

Some things to be thinking about for the club in 2006 are the annual meeting and an RO-1 class (Range Officer, Level 1).  The annual meeting will be scheduled for late January or early February to discuss club business, elect officers and share a good meal.  After discussing the meeting with different members, most feel like having it on a day other than match day would be best to prevent everyone from having such a long day.  I will try to get the meeting set up as soon as we can work out a date.  The RO-1 class will be set up early in 2006 also.  If you are interested in participating, let myself or TN Deadeye know.

I think 2005 has been an excellent year for the Greene County Regulators.  We have had 12 great matches at our club, made new friends and had new members join also.  Several of our cowboys and cowgirls have won state championships, regional championships and we even have a winner from End of Trail.  Our club has been featured on a local radio station at least 3 times as well as getting a huge article with great pictures in the Kingsport Times News.  In September, we celebrated our 3rd Anniversary and had a great turnout.  I would like to thank each and every one of our fine Regulators and friends who help us to enjoy the sport of cowboy action shooting.  Being the Ramrod for the club this year was a privilege for me and I enjoyed it very much.  It is easy to do when you have plenty of good help and I certainly did.  I hope you all had as much fun as I did.

I'd like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.  Gifts are very nice and we all like to get them but let's remember the real reason for the season is Jesus Christ and I hope that each of you know him.  Until we meet on the trail again, shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way from the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
