The 6th Annual Anniversary Match Is In The Books!
The Greene County Regulators held their 6th Annual Anniversary Match on September 6th, 2008. We had 46 Cowboys and Cowgirls show up for one heck of a fun match. Stages were written by Sheez Packen, A. Wall and myself and we had some fun and fast shooting to enjoy.
Sheez Packen and all of her assistants provided food for lunch and no one went away hungry! We had ham, "cowboy" beans, potato salad, drinks and lots of desserts including ice cold watermelon.
She also had caps made up for everyone that shot the match. The hats are tan with a forest green bill and the SASS Marshal logo on the front surrounded by the words "Greene County Regulators" and "Rogersville, TN" on the back. They looked fantastic and I hope everyone wears theirs with the same pride I will.
Copperhead Joe came in from Kentucky and was the top gunslinger in the overall competition and received a very nice plaque. He was also the B-Western category winner and received a free match certificate and we hope he returns soon. Kill Em All Kate from North Carolina was our second place finisher and top lady gunfighter. She also won the Lady's Modern category. She received a nice plaque and free match certificate as well. All of the other first place finishers received a free match certificate for their category. You can see all of the scores on the "Match Scores" section of the website.
We had six shooters that never missed a single shot during the entire match and incurred no penalties as well. They are, Bear Claws O'Connor, Doc Cherokee, Lightning McCoy, Marshal Plank Shade, Pistol Creek, and Tenn Critr. Congratulations to all of you!
Keep our Ramrod, Mort Dooley, and his family in your prayers. Mort’s Mother passed away on September 6th. I've posted information about the funeral arrangements and such on the club bulletin board.
Until next time…shoot straight, have fun, and most of all…be safe.
