Great Shooting in October
Saturday was a beautiful day to have a cowboy match. There were 40 shooters who were looking to have fun and fellowship at the range. We had cowboys and cowgirls from all over the region and a great group they were. Stages were provided by William AA Wallace and were entitled “Rest in Peace” and featured famous epitaphs from notable personalities from the old west such as Wyatt Earp, Billy the Kid and Jesse James.
With 40 shooters present, the competition was fierce but when the smoke cleared and the dust settled, A Wall was the Top Gun for the day. A Wall had brought his entire posse from home which included Summer Breeze, B N Bonnet and Buck L Down who all shot very well. His wife also came and cheered them on as they showed what a family sport cowboy action shooting can be. Congratulations A Wall on being the Top Gun!!
Close behind were Rio Drifter and Mort Dooley followed by Lil Weasel and William AA Wallace to round out the top 5 spots. I’d love to be able to list every single cowboy or cowgirl in the newsletter but with 40 shooters, it would be a mile long. You can check out the scores section on the website for a complete list and find out how everyone did.
Not only do we have fast shooters at our matches, but we also have great shooters. There were 11, yes 11, who hit every target they shot at. A Wall, B N Bonnet, Cool Breeze, Doc Cherokee, Keystone, Marshal Plank Shade, Sheez Packen, Summer Breeze, Tenn Critr, Tio Don and TN Deadeye made every piece of steel ring that day. Congratulations to all of you!
Our Territorial Governor, William A.A. Wallace will have a discussion on the upcoming Territorial Governor's Summit Agenda for 2008. The agenda items can be found on the club message board. We will vote on each item and our proxy for voting will be carried by J.M. Brown (NC Territorial Governor).
That's about it for this month. I will be in Texas on a whitetail deer hunt during the November match. Hogleg Horn, William AA Wallace and Sheez Packen will take good care of things and provide you with another great event. I hope to see everyone at the December match.
So, until next time, shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way...
From the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
