Regulators Still Shooting and Having Fun!
Howdy folks, it has been a little busy around the Ponderosa the last few months so I haven’t had much time to pen a newsletter. Hopefully things will improve and we can get one out each month now. Apparently people do read them because I have been questioned several times about why there hasn’t been one lately. I’ll try to do better in the future. Now, on to business.
It seems like this year is really moving right along. Doesn’t seem like it was that long ago we were getting ready for Christmas and now we are heading into summer. The Regulators have been having great matches though. For the most part the weather has cooperated very well and allowed us some beautiful days to shoot. In May, the weather was a little rainy but we still had 22 shooters. We made use of our covered stages shooting the same targets in different ways to try and minimize the effects of the weather. It worked out well and we had a fun time.
Lil Weasel was the Top Gunslinger again in May. I think this makes about 3 months in a row for him. Way to go Weasel! Middle Creek Kid was back shooting with us again and finished 2nd overall. It sure was good to have him back after some ailments kept him from shooting for a few months. Mort Dooley was 3rd over all followed by Trooper Lark and Widowmaker Hill. If you haven’t already checked, the whole list is posted in the Scores section of the website. Take a gander and check out your favorite shooter and see how they did.
A few of our hardworking cowboys have been busy cleaning up around the range and making things look better. Headed up by Cherokee Deacon, Trooper Lark, Cool Breeze, Rio Drifter, Boozy Creek and Middle Creek Kid have really made improvements in the last few months. If I left anyone out who helped, I apologize. Thanks to everyone who helped out with the cleanup.
Our Anniversary match will be here before we know. September is just around the corner so we need to thinking of what we want to do for our special match. This will be the 7th, yes I said 7th Anniversary match for the Greene County Regulators. Quite an accomplishment for our club. We need to start planning and getting ready so ideas are welcome.
Keep an eye on our message board for upcoming work days and other information concerning the club.
Well, that’s about it for this month. I hope to see everyone at the June shoot so until next time, shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way, from the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
