27 hombres made an appearance at Boardertown Saturday, March 6th and smoke & thunder commenced!! Fun was the order of the day and lots of sunshine didn't hurt none. It was a little chilly at first but nothing like the first few matches of the year. Deacon had a nice fire rollin by the time we got there and that was surely appreciated. Thanks Cherokee.
Tennessee Hawk, we're glad you continue to ride with us and we sincerely hope some fun, sun and gun smoke are helping soothe your spirit. We were also very excited to see O'Shea pay us a visit. I think he was more excited to get out for awhile though. He mentioned that he was playin with the idea of shootin with us again! That'd be wonderful. Hope it happens. Good to see you Frank. I noticed old Bear Claws O' Conner sittin on a log after the match a sunnin his self. Good to see you too pard.
Jackalope and Anita Margarita were in fine shootin form as usual although I overheard her mention that she "lost her mo jo" on one stage. (I lost mine in January and still ain't found it). Everybody loves to watch you shoot that rifle Jackalope. You're masterful with it. Speakin of rifles Widowmaker showed us his Widder Matic and Widder Magic. Pretty impressive. You can read more about 'em on the Sass Wire. He also made an impressive showing with his gunfighter skills! Keystone and Hawk corralled Dustin Clays and Lightning McCoy and all seemed to have a good time. You fellers add a lot to the Boardertown party.
Congratulations to our winner Sunshine Billy who's on a two match roll. Close behind were Lil Weasel, Jackalope Jasper and William A.A. Wallace who shot one of his best (only) matches in months!!! Congrats in order to Mustang Mathews who was pretty excited about shootin his second clean match EVER!!! Way to go Mustang. He's workin on form... says the speed will come later. Good plan. Sonora Moon was kind enough to keep score for us for the whole match. Thanks Sonora. Posse two learned that a miss doesn't constitute a procedural... but an engagement does... or something like that. Ask Wallace to explain an interesting development that we discussed for half an hour up around stage four.
A tip of the hat is in order to Middle Creek for stopping everything and coming to our rescue with a barrel of water for the privy. Seems our anti-freeze ain't workin too good... that and a broken coupler caused all the water to drain out when Mort heated things up. Middle Creek does a lot behind the scenes without much recognition. We appreciate you Bryan. We also saw the the Spirit of the Game in good health Saturday as you took the time to talk with and encourage several visitors to Boardertown. That's the name of the game my friend. Well done.
I hope I haven't left anything or anyone out... if I did let me know and we'll update this.Keep Trooper Lark and Sheez Packin in yer prayers for a speedy recovery from his nerve damage.
Well, I think we can safely say a fine time was had and I'm pretty sure you and me is lookin forward to the next round up. Thanks for comin and we hope to see YOU at Bordertown in April.
Lil' Weasel
