July 3rd, 2010 at Bordertown

The day began with the sad news of the recent passing of Sheepdog Slim's sister. Joe thanked you for your prayers and comforting presence and dedicated his match to her today. You and your family will remain in our thoughts and prayers Joe.

Mort and Deacon had the range in tip top shape and the weather was picture perfect as 38 outlaws, law dogs and ladies gathered to "hurrah" the day with smoke and thunder! We welcomed first time SASS shooters Monache Jack, Tennessee Six Gun and Lady Six Gun and are happy to announce that Monache Jack is our newest Regulator member! Ye Ha! Hope to see each of you back in August. (That first match is always kinda tough... just ask ANYBODY!)

Hats off to Trooper Lark who strapped his guns on and shot a match today. If you were experiencing any discomfort Jerry we couldn't tell. You were in great form!

We were also glad to see William A.A. Wall - I mean Wallace back at Bordertown. It was kind of like old home week. We even got to talk to Middle Creek for awhile. His back is keeping him from shooting for the time being but we're hoping he'll be back in action soon. Marshall Plank Shade, Keystone, Tennessee Hawk, Tio Don, Kid Ziggy and Ali, Widowmaker, Slater, Roma Jane, Long Gulch, Pistol Creek... Lots of great folks that made a great day even better.

Patsy and Sonora Moon served up some brownies and sugar free cup cakes for our 4th of July Match (on the 3rd) and Deacon and Bigfoot helped Patsy put up some red, white and blue bunting all around our announcement stage! It looked great!

All in all a great day to be alive and livin' in the USA don't ya think? Happy birthday America from The Greene County Regulators and friends. Hope to see YOU next month. Till then shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way.
