Regulators Start Another Year
Well, the Regulators have started another year and I hope it is as good as or better than last year. 2008 was a great year for our club. We had great matches with excellent shooters and built another stage front at the range and had a ball in the process. We had new members join the club and our monthly attendance was high even in bad weather. All in all I think we had an outstanding year.
January started out very well for us with an exciting match written by our own William AA Wallace. There were 16 shooters present to see what was in store for the first match of 2009. After 5 fast stages, Rio Drifter was the Top Gunslinger for the day. I’m not sure what he eats for breakfast but it sure works!! He is a very quick and deliberate shooter and it shows. Way to go Rio!!
Mort Dooley was close behind in 2nd place while Lil Weasel finished 3rd. Cool Breeze and Bear Claws O’Connor were rounded out the top 5 shooters. Bear Claws and Tenn Critr also hit all of the targets for a clean match. Way to go boys. See the rest of the results in the Scores section of our website.
Our annual meeting was held at Pratt’s Barn in Kingsport on January 10th. We had great attendance and enjoyed a nice meal before taking care of club business. Officers were elected and are as follows:
Ramrod: Mort Dooley
Foreman: Hogleg Horn
Secretary: Lady Sedona
Bean Counter: Lil Weasel
Territorial Governor: William AA Wallace
A work day was scheduled on January 24th to do some cleanup around the range. Cherokee Deacon, Rio Drifter and Boozy Creek worked on cleaning up the old barn lumber in front of stage 5. Be sure to watch the Message Board on the website for more info concerning upcoming work days. With help from everyone, we can make progress on range improvements that will benefit our club.
Well, that’s about it for this month. I hope to see everyone at the February shoot so until next time, shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way, from the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
