Rainy Weather for January

Saturday morning the sky was filled with heavy gray clouds and looked like rain at any time.  That proved to be correct as it rained several different times throughout the day with anything from a light mist to heavy rains.  There were 17 shooters who decided to stay despite the dreary weather.

We had 3 brand new shooters with us, Slim Chance Pete, Mik Burns and Joe Brandt.  This was their first cowboy shoot and they braved cold and rainy weather all day long and shot very well.  Each of them said they enjoyed the match.  They should really have fun when the weather is decent.  We were certainly glad to have them and hope they can make it back in February.

Lil Weasel was back and making a good showing as he finished 1st in 49er and 2nd overall behind Mort Dooley.  William AA Wallace who had written the stages for us again moved into 3rd

Tombstone Tim and Hogleg Horn were really smoking up the place as they shot their black powder in Frontier Cartridge Duelist and Classic Cowboy.  At times the smoke was so thick that I'm sure the targets felt safe but these two cowboys know how to shoot and they made the steel ring all day long.  It was fun to watch as they ducked below smoke clouds to see targets and fire the next round.  A couple of real cowboys for sure.

Doc Willoughby has a complete list of everyone's finish in the Scores section so be sure to take a look.

It is time for our business meeting to elect officers, discuss club plans for 2006 and share a meal.  I will be sending the information to everyone soon.  If you would like to serve as on officer this year or nominate someone for a job, this will be the time to do it.  We will also be discussing making more targets and things we would like to see the club do in 2006.  Please attend if possible to help us make these decisions as best we can.  We also plan to set a date for another RO1 (Range Officer Level 1) class in the near future.  It is a great class for anyone who hasn't taken it before.

Until the meeting, shoot straight and have fun the cowboy way from the Ramrod, Mort Dooley.
