It’s almost time for Christmas…so “Stand and Deliver!
The December 2007 match is in the books! We had 34 shooters come out and participate on one of the nicest shooting days that I can remember for a December match.
The stages were written as “stand and deliver” (for the most part!). This caused the stages to be fast and furious, with many times in the minus 25 second range.
Top gun for the month of December was Middle Creek Kid, with Rio Drifter in second and Lil Weasel rounding out the top three. Summer Breeze was the top lady at 11th place overall. Congrats to all of them! The rest of the scores can be found under the “Scores” section of the website.
There were three competitors that shot clean matches. Congratulations to Tenn Critr, TN Tall, and Cherokee Deacon for making sure that every piece of steel was hit!
It was really nice to have Doc Willoughby back with us! Doc had taken a break from Cowboy Action Shooting, but was back in full swing Saturday. Doc continues to keep the website updated and does an excellent job at getting the scores posted in a timely manner.
The flooring and roof were completed on Bay 1 and looked really nice. We were even able to use it as a stage front for the match. We will be completing it in the near future. We will be making one end into a freight office and have whisky barrels and wooden boxes for props. It should look really good and be very functional. Our range is looking good and it’s due to the hard work and dedication of our members.
The January match will be held on the 5th of the month as usual. We will be having the club’s Annual Meeting on January 26th at a place to be determined later.
Don’t forget to renew your club membership for 2008. We have membership cards this year as well. Cost is still $30.00 for individuals and $50.00 for family membership. Your membership fee allows you to vote at the annual meeting and saves you $5.00 off match fees for each month that you shoot with us. Applications are available from the club Secretary or you can find it online on the GCR Message Board.
Until we meet again…shoot straight, shoot often, but most of all…be safe and have FUN!!!
